Using a Different Frame of Mind for the New Year

Happy 2020!

I would challenge you to start the New Year in a whole different frame of mind. Instead of looking at what you perceive as your faults.......your imperfections which you feel need an overhaul......try beginning the new year a whole new way.

First of all why would we want to start a new year finding fault with ourselves? Why would we look for all the negative things we think there are about who we are and try to fix them when there are so many wonderful qualities about ourselves we should enhance?

I will tell you now that there are more positives about you than you give yourself credit for. There are many more things going right for you than are not. Life is a beautiful thing when we are present in the moment finding all the things that are right about ourselves and what is going on all around us.

So instead of making a list of resolutions in which you think you need improvement I would challenge you to make a list of all of the things in the past year that worked out for you.

I would challenge you to add to this list all of the things that are right about you.....all of the things that are so different than anyone else that should be celebrated.

If we are to change anything let it be that we have more appreciation for the good things in our lives.

If we are to be a happier world let us see the good everywhere.

If we are to change our lives for the better let us love ourselves for who we are for each of us is unique and one of a kind.

If we are to know peace and joy we must be happy with all that we are and not try to fit in with anyone else's idea of who we should be........of anyone else's idea of how we should act.......of anyone else's idea of where we should be at this point in our lives.

Ask yourself this: Am I making resolutions because that is what is expected of me not what makes me happy?

Here is what you can list to start this New Year:

  • What you love about yourself.
  • All that you have.
  • Everything you have accomplished.
  • How much you have grown as a person.
  • All of the knowledge and experience you have gathered.
  • Every positive relationship you have.

You can add anything else you feel has blessed your life this past year. Make your list to fit who you are because no one is going to have one like yours..... we are all so different.

There is no wrong way to make your list so have at it and start your year with the joy of who you are.....celebrate what you have accomplished so far.......appreciate all that you your life and live it to the fullest.

Many Blessings to All
