Change is Good for the Soul

 Most people find that change is hard but in fact it is only as hard as you make it. You get to choose what you want to change and in making that choice you move forward and help to make your life more the way you want it.

There are always things we can change about ourselves but what changes can you make that will improve who you are, where you are and what you are doing?

  • What if you changed your focus to something positive and uplifting?
  • What if you changed the way you look at a particular situation?
  • What if you changed where you are?
  • What if you changed to a more positive outlook?

When we are focused on the negative we not only feel bad but we can't move forward to anything that would help us to be happy because we aren't feeling happy but negative. This negative energy can bring you down to a level that you sometimes can't shake because one negative thought brings another and another and pretty soon you are so weighed down and unhappy it really impedes your ability to get on with life.

I challenge you to sit down and write what positive changes you can make that will help you to feel better and to move forward. 

  • Make suggestions as if it is happening already. 
  • Be sure you are centered on positive changes and be aware of how those changes would make you feel.
  • Let the positive energy  you feel while writing stay with you as an incentive to stay in this mindset.

As you are writing make a list of everything you have to be grateful for right now. What has happened for you that you appreciate. What is going right for you. Gratitude is the best way to really see what is positive in your life.

Change is truly good for the soul. When there is movement in your life, when it starts to flow, change brings a different perspective always, a fresh way to see things, a new horizon for sure.

Where is the Positive?

 

I have no explanation as to why it is human nature to focus on the negative. It is amazing to me that most people can tell you what is going wrong for them more often than what is going right. It's weird isn't it that what feels bad comes up first instead of what feels good.

This of course is a habit that many have acquired over a lifetime. It could be a learned behavior from parents or just a loop that we keep repeating over and over. 

  • What if we chose to talk about what is going right in our lives?
  • What if we made sure our conversations were upbeat and positive?
  • What if we chose to focus on feelings that bring us joy?

I would challenge you to sit down and write out what has gone right for you in the last year. If you are going to look back at all look at what turned out well for you. Start writing and look at things that turned out even better than you thought they were going to. 

  • Look for positive solutions that came to you. 
  • Look for positive relationships you made. 
  • Look for anything that brought a positive reaction for you.

By making note of these things you will find that so many positive things come to mind you wonder why you weren't noticing them when they were happening. By recognizing these positives we can be so grateful for them because they did make our life better even if we didn't see it at the time. Gratitude for all of the good that happened in our lives enhances our positive outlook.

Positive thoughts are the basis of a positive life. When we see things more positively we not only feel better but we open the door for more and more positives to come in our lives.

Make this a habit and your whole life will change for the better.

Stop Looking Back

 Happy New Year!

The best way to start a New Year is by not looking back at anytime in your life that brings you to a negative thought process, especially the last year.

You have so much power over your life just by letting go of what is behind you and to focus on what it is you want for yourself in 2026.

When we keep pivoting back to parts of our lives that bring us unhappiness or sadness we do such an injustice to our beautiful spirit. 

  • What if we let go of childhood trauma?
  • What if we let go of unhappy relationships?
  • What if we let go of what we might think of as failure?

These experiences have had life altering affects at one point on our journey but when we keep reliving them we are doing ourselves a great disservice. We are giving them permission to live in our hearts and minds and to diminish all that is positive and happy for ourselves. By keeping them alive in our thoughts and feelings we give them energy to keep invading our space of peace and joy.

Free yourself starting today using your thoughts as the foundation of a better and more satisfying way to view your life for the year ahead.

You can do this just by starting the habit of not looking back and not revisiting anything in your past that brings you unhappiness. Let your thoughts be on today and a new way to think about what you want and how you want it. Make it the most positive you can using your powerful imagination and your feelings for your greater good.

Paint the picture in your thoughts of the life you would want to live in the year ahead.

You Are an Artist with your Thoughts

 Your imagination is a powerful tool. Know that if you weren't suppose to use it you wouldn't have one.

Think of yourself as a master artist. You can be thinking about your life in such a beautiful way that the picture you have in your mind about your life in the positive is a major work of art if you allow it to be. 

Using your thoughts to see in your mind's eye the way you would like it to be is like having a master plan. You can see what you want and you can feel the happiness that the picture brings you so how much you put into keeping this work of art alive and thriving is up to you.

You can add people, places and things anytime you want to. You can make the colors and accents beautiful and bright. Just have a bright picture helps you to feel good.

  • What if you pictured daily something you would like to have happen?
  • What if you focused and then pictured only good things you would feel happy about?
  • What if you took those pictures and kept them going constantly replacing them with any negative pictures that may pop in your mind?

Life can be a beautiful thing when you are centered on the positive things that have happened and are happening for you. It is not an easy habit to have but it is so worth the time and effort to see and feel the good things, the things that bring you joy, the things that make you feel happy and to keep those things as constant pictures in your mind.

I challenge you to make the effort to have pictures in your mind that are vibrant and alive with the way you want your journey to be. You can do this just by starting your day with only the best and brightest pictures of what you want to come into your life.

You will be surprised at what shows up!

Using Your Thoughts As An Asset

 Asset: a useful or valuable thing, person, or quality.

It seems that life has become an alternate Universe of sorts with the times we are experiencing. It is so important for our well-being that we use our thoughts for our greater good and so that we can navigate these times and come out whole and happy.

It is so imperative that we take our own well-being seriously and using our thoughts in the best possible way is the foundation for this feeling of health and happiness to take hold.

Remember that your thoughts of the past are just snapshots of what was. They only existed for a short time and then you stored them in your vast memory. 

The way to keep the past making your present joyful and happy you must tap into all the memories that help you to feel the best you can feel. There are so many of those if you just allow them to surface. Take the time to remember everything that has worked out for you, everything that made you feel exuberant, everything that has that warm and fuzzy feel about it. You have so many if you would just let them surface and then embrace them.

I know that we are all challenged right now to find the good in things happening so I would encourage you not to allow the outside world to ruin your everyday feeling of joy. Stop bringing into your thoughts anything that would ruin a good feeling you might have. 

By letting anyone else cause you negative thoughts you are giving up your own power. Your thoughts are what drive you forward so don't give your power away but insist on using your thoughts for your own greater good.

What if:

  • You concentrated on everything that is right in your life today even if it is something small.
  • You concentrated on a solution instead of a problem.
  • You showed kindness to just one person.
  • You look for something positive to focus on. 
  • You only saw yourself in the most positive light.
When you use your thoughts in this way it changes your outlook and your mindset. It steers you in a direction of not only feeling good but of seeing everything in a more positive light.

Never forget it is you who is the asset to the world, it is you who brings only what you can bring as you are unique and one of a kind.

Trust that when you bring more and more positive thoughts and feelings you are changing the way things happen. Be one of the many lights in our world who believe in being the best asset you can be.

Ordinary Thoughts

 Ordinary: with no special or distinctive features; normal.

I don't think that any of us have ordinary thoughts. We are too creative and imaginative to have such bland thoughts. 

In fact our thoughts are really extraordinary. 

Extraordinary: very unusual or remarkable.

The reason I say this is because with our imagination we see our lives with distinctive features and we do have special thoughts about everything.

When we actually focus our thoughts on the things we would like to have happen for us that makes them so powerful. If we stay in a positive frame of mind and see just how life would be and feel the good feelings those thoughts bring to us this makes what we think extraordinary.

  • What if you imagined your life the way you would like it to be and just held those thoughts and feelings in your imagination?
  • What if you made your focus on yourself with thoughts of wonderful experiences ahead?
  • What if you stopped seeing life in the negative and zeroed in on all that positive things possible for you?

It is up to you how you use your thoughts but I would recommend using them to your advantage by seeing and feeling great things for yourself.

Admiring Oneself

Isn't it funny that we admire everything about everyone else but ourselves. We see famous people and want to look and act like them and would copy them if we could.

  • What if we took the time to admire our self? 
  • What if we really looked at the best parts of what we look like?
  • What if we focused on all of our good points?

Some of us resemble each other but no one looks like we do. This is a gift of course and we should be happy about it but most of the time we find fault because we would rather look like someone else.

I would challenge you today to find all of the positive and beautiful things about you. You can start on the inside and work your way out.

Your spirit is the most beautiful and amazing thing about you. Give it a boost by loving yourself today.

Feel the joy of seeing the positive in the way you look and you are on your way to enhancing all that you are.

Thoughts That Count

Do yourself a favor and let go of anything that is making or has made you angry that you are keeping alive with thoughts. You are not doing yourself any good at all by harboring such a destructive negative emotion.

We are losing the quest for happiness when all we do is focus on who, what, or when that has caused us to become angry.

When we fuel this feeling of anger it is so detrimental to our well-being. We simply cannot feel good and be angry at the same time.

  • If you are feeling like a victim let it go.
  • If you are fighting about something let it go.
  • If you are carrying a grudge let it go.
There are so many reasons you could be angry but there are so many more reasons not to be.

It is up to you how much baggage you want to carry around. Believe me when I tell you your beautiful spirit will be so happy when you decide to clear your mind and heart of anger and start enjoying a lighter more carefree life.

It is your choice but it is so important that you understand anger is chipping away at all you can be and certainly at the happiness you want to feel.

Happiness

Happiness is not about what was but about what is right now.

The past shows us one thing about happiness we know what it feels like because we have known happy times. The problem could be that we are trying to recreate the exact situations or times from the past and that is not how it works. 

If we live in the now we can then feel the joy in so many things that are happening within us and around us. We have proven we know how to be happy from past experience but we need to focus on what is making us happy today so that we can stop looking backwards and realize that happiness is part of our now.

The tendency to find fault with our lives becomes a habit. We then start looking for things to be unhappy about when in truth there are so many things to feel good about we just bypass those for the negative.

  • What if you made the change from negative to positive ideas about your life today?
  • What if you decided to focus on what is making you happy right now?
  • What if you thought about everything today that has made you feel good?

It really is about how you are using your thoughts and how those thoughts make you feel.

I challenge everyone to stop, clear your mind, and bring at least one happy thought about today up. You will find that many more follow they just can't help it.

Take a Good Look at Who You Are.

If you give yourself the credit you deserve instead of criticism which we all tend to do, you are one step closer to knowing a happy life.

It is so easy to jump all over what you think might be wrong with yourself but there are so many things that are right you really have to start paying attention to those.

Give yourself a break and list your accomplishments. You can write them down if you would like and start to see the reality of them.

Accomplishments span over time so make sure that you look far enough back to see what you have done and how far you have come.

You are one of a kind and no one has done anything the way you have. Being unique is amazing isn't it?

Take the time to take a good look at who you are, and the journey you have taken so far so much has been fun and positive and just plain wonderful.

You are in fact brave, talented, and capable take a look and you will find experiences in your life that show you just that.

Happy or Angry?

It's amazing people don't realize that it is our choice of thought that makes the difference in how we see our lives and everything around us. It is so simple to change the way we think so that we become more satisfied and content with ourselves and everything around us.

I would ask you this: What kind of a world do you think we would have if everyone decided not to be angry or unhappy but willing to to find everything they possibly could in their lives which allows them to feel good?

Not only could we change the world but we would change our own lives drastically for the better because we would know peace and contentment. We would take the time to appreciate everything that is right in our lives and by doing so would feel the best we have ever felt.

I would challenge you today to change any hostile feelings you have towards yourself, someone else, or some situation that has you tied up in knots.

Let your thoughts take you to a totally different way to think and feel just by looking for and finding everything you have to be grateful for.

Love Who You Are

The only way to move forward in the most positive way is to love who you are. When you begin to focus on all of your good qualities, all of your accomplishments, you can then feel hope which makes your life the adventure it is suppose to be.

Do yourself an favor and be kind to yourself, let yourself be the person you are meant to be just by letting go of anything that weighs you down. 

  • Let go of any negative thoughts you have about yourself.
  • Give yourself credit for all you have accomplished so far.
  • Allow yourself to clear you mind of anything you have carried around that hurts your beautiful spirit.

Self Worth

 

Feeling good enough has always been a human failing in so many ways. We live our lives comparing ours to everyone else's which really present a problem daily for most of us.

  • What if you didn't care if you weren't wealthy?
  • What if you didn't care if you fit the general description of everyone else?
  • What if you didn't fit into an exact replica of a current trend?

Let's be real here and understand that self worth comes from the inside. It comes from being happy with who you are and where you are and what you have. It comes from not trying to be someone else but being yourself and all that you are.

If we were constantly worried about making tons of money to make us important, or if we were always looking in the mirror and finding fault, or if we were worried that we weren't like everyone else, we are losing all the times we could feel happy and content.

Life is too short to try so hard to be something you are not. Let your true beautiful spirit be the guiding light for you. 

  • You know what makes you happy so do plenty of that.
  • You know what you want to do so do it.
  • You know you are not like anyone else so be yourself.

Here are a few things you can be that would make a huge difference in everyone's daily life especially your own:

  • Be kind.
  • Be funny.
  • Be compassionate.
  • Be thoughtful.
  • Be happy.       
You will find by being yourself and original you will bring into your life the people you really want to be around.
